Man Babies
So everyone is talking about the man who is pregnant. Thomas Beatie, who was born a woman, but is now legally a man, is pregnant and everyone is flipping out. Am I the only person that isn’t really shocked by this?
When I heard the news “There’s a man who’s pregnant!” My first reaction was “What!? That sounds fake.” Then the scenario was described and I said “Oh, ok” and continued to do whatever I was doing. This was such a non shock to me, I’m shocked that everyone else is shocked. I understand that it’s strange, but in a world where Maury and Springer exist…is it really that shocking?
I just watched Oprah with this guy and his wife on it. They seem like a nice couple. The wife is cool with it, he’s cool with it, her kids from a previous relationship were cool with it…why does the publics opinion have to count? I know a lot of people are flipping out about how unnatural it is and everything. And I guess I see that. But as long as they’re happy, and they raise the child in a good loving home…should it matter?
Maybe it’s just me…but I see stranger things driving down Monroe Ave in the city after 3am than a man who was originally a woman being pregnant.
