Marti, My Friend, My Cat
I thought I should dedicate a blog to my cat, Marti. Marti and I go way back. I got her when she was just 5 weeks old during the brief time I lived in Kentucky, and she definately has some KY crazy in her. She is the most unique psycho animal I have ever met…and that’s why I love her :o)
I make it no secret that I’m not a huge fan of kids, but I do love animals. I watched Oprah’s show last week about the puppy mills and cried for the whole hour. I like dogs, but am definitely a cat person. I wish I had 10 baby kittens crawling on me now.
I guess I pretty much treat my cat like my kid. I talk to her all time, she meows back, and we have deep philosophical discussions. I have several nicknames for her…which Brody is starting to call her some of them now, which cracks me up. And I buy her her favorite things like: green olives, cheese, cosmic catnip (cat crack), Meow Mix (the only dry cat food she’ll eat), and then she puts all of her toy mice in her bowl for a dinner party.
The sad thing is, I could probably write several pages on this blog about my love for my cat. So I better stop before there’s no turning back. Make sure to check out Marti’s myspace!

I am glad I am not the only one that adores my cats and treat them like my children. I am also glad to hear that my cats aren’t the only two that put all their toys in their food dish. Mine move these little craft balls that I buy them and they play fetch with. I just love it when they put it in their water dish then get it out and drop it for me to throw to them. Then “Surprise!! Its a sopping wet ball!!” I am pretty sure tht at this point they look at each other like “oh man, we got her again! That was great!”

Hi AManda,
I think it’s great your such an animal lover. I have two cats that I love very much, but due to my 19 month old, the arrival of a new baby and a dog, they are not fairing so well. I am looking for a good home for them, but with no luck. I once thought that I could take them to Lollypop Farm and they would have a chance (don’t ever do that unless you want to kill them). Would you by any chance want two more cats or know anyone in need of kitty affection?
