Yay! I just rocked Craigslist once again and scored a snazzy 10 speed bike for $25! I live in the Park Ave area and have been wanting to go out and cruise the neighborhood on a bike.

My new bike needs some work like air in the tires and oil on the chain, but it’s still pretty sweet. I wanted to find a bike like Pee Wee’s in Pee Wee’s Big Adventure…but no such luck. That bike is the best! I love that movie!

Only one problem though. I haven’t ridden a bike since high school. And I was in a big bike accident and tore up my face, arms, and put a huge hole in my knee. So after that I’ve been pretty afraid to get up and ride a bike. I used to be the bike champion. Riding around with my feet up on the handlebars…no hands…going downhill…it was impressive. Then once I tore myself up, I’ve always been a little nervous when on a bike. But I’m putting my fears aside and getting back up on the 2 wheels!

Yesterday I rode for the first time around my parking lot, and it was pretty sad. I was going so slow…was afraid to use the brakes, had to stop while making turns…just pathetic. Brody stood and watched me and just laughed. He even recommended I practice in the parking lot more before I get on the road. I’m a mess.

Once I get used to the bike again…first order of business….get a sweet bicycle bell! Not kidding! I’m excited…I want an awesome bike bell! My bike will be the sweetest ride on Park Ave! For serious!
